Mayor allows budget to become law without signature
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva, after careful consideration, has decided to allow the first budget under the new Mayor-City Council form of government to become law without his signature.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The City of East Providence held a dedication at City Hall on Thursday memorializing the deceased members of the East Providence Fire and Police Departments who died in the line of duty.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The East Providence Public Works Department, Recycling/Refuse Division announces that all household rubbish, recycling, and yard waste regularly collected on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, will be collected on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 due to the Columbus Day Holiday. All collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed one day. Regular collections will resume the week of October 21, 2019. Residents are asked to have all materials at the curb by 6 a.m. on the day of collection.

Lt. Floyd Gardner was sworn in by Mayor Bob DaSilva to the rank of captain of the East Providence Police Dept. on Wednesday. Gardner, who has been a member of the force for 16 years, was sworn in before the Command Staff including Chief William Nebus, Major Christopher Francesconi, Capt. James Nelson and Capt. Thomas Rush.
