The East Providence 250 Commission presents Revolutionary War Sites in Rhode Island on Monday, October 5th at 6:30pm at Weaver Library.
Charlotte Taylor, Principal Archaeologist at the RI Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission, will give a presentation about significant archaeological sites, both underground and underwater, related to the Revolutionary War. Featured sites will include Butts Hill Fort in Portsmouth, the Battle of Rhode Island site on Aquidneck Island, and sunken British war ships and transport ships off Newport’s coast. She will also show the audience an inert British hand grenade.
