Due to the impending storm, a parking ban will go into effect TONIGHT @ 8PM until further notice. Once the ban is lifted, you will have one hour to remove your vehicle from the lots. In addition, our daytime warming center, located at our Senior Center at 610 Waterman Ave., is open Monday 9 AM to 7 PM and the overnight Emergency Winter Hub, will be open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week from 7 PM to 7AM. EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The City has added 12 new firefighters to the East Providence Fire Department thanks to $3.75 million in federal funding through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The City of East Providence Dept. of Public Works has announced that due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday there will be no rubbish collection on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. Monday’s rubbish will be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 and rubbish collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.

Residents are asked to have rubbish containers at the curb by 6 a.m. for collection.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—The City of East Providence is urging and warning residents to be more mindful of their recycling habits and their detrimental impact on both the environment and their own wallets.

In 2024, the City of East Providence had more than 2 million pounds of rejected recyclable waste, all of which ended up being dumped in the landfill, costing East Providence taxpayers $91,264.92.
