EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – In an effort to further improve upon and alleviate stormwater flooding issues, East Providence has been awarded a $225,000 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant.
This grant will be used to conduct a hydraulic analysis to see what changes must be made to avoid flooding in vulnerable parts of the City.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, the state’s central hub for financing infrastructure improvements for municipalities, businesses and homeowners has awarded the City of East Providence $480,188 in a Municipal Infrastructure grant.
The Municipal Infrastructure grant funds will be used to implement necessary public infrastructure toward the Center City Apartments, an affordable housing development by ONE Neighborhood Builders.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – In a step that could ease traffic congestion and improve public safety in the neighborhoods near the Washington Bridge, U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressman Gabe Amo today announced a new federal grant to inform future upgrades to key infrastructure and technology related to traffic control along the City of East Providence’s most trafficked roadways.
ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) encourages small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations in Rhode Island with economic losses due to severe storms and flooding on Dec. 17-19, 2023, to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) before the Dec. 23 deadline.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The East Providence Public Works Department, Recycling/Refuse Division announces that all household rubbish, regularly collected on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, will be collected on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024 due to the Christmas Holiday.
Collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed one day.
Household rubbish and recycling, regularly collected on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 will be collected on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 due to the New Year holiday.

This is a mandatory replacement program for all residential and commercial business customers.
There will be no cost to the homeowner or business owner for the meter replacement.
