EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The East Providence City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to authorize Mayor Bob DaSilva to enter into a contract extension with Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt for city roadway improvements.

The $2.3 million extension funding was previously allocated in the Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget.

“Our administration is committed to improving our infrastructure, including our city roads and I am grateful that the City Council approved my request for this funding in our prior budget,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The City of East Providence is doubling down on its commitment to supporting new and innovative businesses throughout our community while also saving taxpayers money through the recent purchase of a new utility body from a local manufacturing startup for the Department of Public Works.

The City of East Providence has sent a 2011 Ford F-250 with more than 124,000 miles to receive the new utility body which will help give the vehicle an additional 10 to 15 years of longevity.

EAST PROVIDENCE.RI - The City of East Providence will be opening our temporary extreme weather overnight warming shelter located at the Robert E. Rock Senior Center beginning Monday, February 17, 2025.

The warming shelter will remain open until Monday, February 24, 2025 pending forecast and volunteer availability.

Overnight shelter space is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those planning on utilizing the overnight shelter must sign in and be present between the hours of 7 PM-8:30 PM to stay overnight.
