EAST PROVIDENCE.RI - The City of East Providence will be opening our temporary extreme weather overnight warming shelter located at the Robert E. Rock Senior Center starting Monday, February 17, 2025.

The warming shelter will remain open until Monday, February 24, 2025 pending forecast and volunteer availability.

Overnight shelter space is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those planning on utilizing the overnight shelter must sign in and be present between the hours of 7 PM-8:30 PM.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The city of East Providence Dept. of Public Works has announced that due to the Presidents’ Day holiday there will be no rubbish collection on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025. Monday’s rubbish will be collected on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 and rubbish collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.

Residents are asked to have rubbish containers at the curb by 6 a.m. for collection.

Bulky item collection remains the same, collection Friday, Feb. 21, 2025.

Mayor DaSilva reaffirms commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – In response to President Donald J. Trump’s Executive Order aiming to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs within the federal government, Mayor Bob DaSilva signed a proclamation during Wednesday’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Program affirming the city’s commitment to supporting these programs and the residents of East Providence.
