Unlock endless possibilities with an East Providence Public Library Card this September

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - This September, the East Providence Public Library invites you to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover how a single card can open the door to endless opportunities.

From free classes and job resources to homework help, streaming media, and cultural events, today’s libraries connect communities to information, inspiration, and each other.

Three new troll sculptures by internationally renowned recycle artist, Thomas Dambo, have arrived in Rhode Island, completing the “Rhode Island Troll Trail.” The new residents are Young Boulder who lives in Richmond at Browning Mill Pond in the Arcadia Management Area, Iver Mudslider who resides in North Kingstown’s Ryan Park and Mrs. Skipper who greets Bay travelers in East Providence.

East Providence, with remnants from Hurricane Erin expected to have impacts on the weather forecast, RIEMA is sharing information with the community to note:
General Safety:

Stay Out of the Water: Swimming, surfing, and other water activities are prohibited due to life-threatening rip currents and dangerous surf.

Stay Off the Coastline: Residents and visitors should avoid all shoreline areas, including rocky outcrops and jetties, as rogue waves can easily sweep people into the water.

We’re thrilled to announce some exciting changes coming to Weaver Library! As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a more welcoming, functional, and inspiring space for our community, the library is undergoing a thoughtful redesign to better serve you.
Construction is already in progress, and to safely complete the final phase of renovations, Weaver Library will be temporarily closed from August 27 through September 7.
