EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – East Providence is implementing a new design for the city’s monthly water and sewer bills.
The new outline clearly shows residents exactly what they are being charged. The new water bills highlight how much is being spent on water, sewer, and other fees that may be accrued.
While many municipalities bill water and sewer separately, the City of East Providence combines the two into one billing system.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The Arbor Day Foundation named East Providence a 2024 Tree City USA in honor of its commitment to plant, grow, and maintain trees to benefit its community.
East Providence, RI – Ty Messier, a graduating senior at East Providence High School has been named one of 621 semifinalists in the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from over 6,000 candidates expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2025.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI - New homeowners joined East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva, SWAP Executive Director Carla DeStefano, and RI Housing Secretary Deborah Goddard for a ribbon cutting and tour of three new affordable homes in East Providence. With a selling price of $239,000, the 2-family homes are designed to be affordable for low to moderate income families. The 2200 sq.ft. 2-family homes include a main 3-bedroom unit and 1-or 2-bedroom second apartment that generates extra income for homeowners.
