EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—The City of East Providence is urging and warning residents to be more mindful of their recycling habits and their detrimental impact on both the environment and their own wallets.

In 2024, the City of East Providence had more than 2 million pounds of rejected recyclable waste, all of which ended up being dumped in the landfill, costing East Providence taxpayers $91,264.92.

Happening Thursday, January 9th from 6-8 PM at Riverside Middle School, The Mayor's Council on Indigenous Affairs and East Providence Police are collaborating for a night of fun and games for the whole family.

As part of the Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, there will be a DJ, pizza, cornhole, as well as a 3-point contest with prizes all happening alongside the brave men and women who fight to keep our community safe every day.

Please take some time out of your night to stop in!
