East Providence Fire rolls out new ladder truck in Riverside

East Providence, RI – The East Providence Fire Dept. has rolled out its first new ladder truck in 20 years.

The ladder truck, with a price tag of just over $1 million, will be assigned to Station 2, located on Bullocks Point Avenue in Riverside.

“The East Providence Fire Department is excited that its citizens will have a state-of-the-art aerial truck to serve their districts,” East Providence Fire Chief Glenn Quick said. “This was a long time coming due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it came in just in time as we had to decommission one of our ladder trucks.”

The E-One Typhoon model truck, ordered through Greenwood Motors, is a 100-foot aerial ladder truck built by E-One in Ocala, Florida. The 2021 aerial ladder truck carries an assortment of ground ladders and extraction tools. It is an Advanced Life Support (ALS)-certified ladder.

“We are dedicated to enhancing and providing the highest level of public safety for our residents,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said. “And this additional ladder in Riverside will help our city’s residents and may help to save lives.”
