SEASONAL SECURITY and MAINTENANCE PERSON (Pierce Field)

21 Hours per week
Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
$17.00 per hour (No Benefits)

Summary: Under the direction of the supervisors of the Parks Division, the Seasonal Security and Maintenance Person cares for the Pierce Field Sports Complex and serves as the responsible on-site point of contact for users of the facility.

General Responsibilities:

• Unlock and lock all gates at the Pierce Field Sports Complex.
• Maintain and cleanup the grounds and trash barrels.
• Put away equipment and supplies at end of each shift.
• Turn lights on and off for scheduled events.
• Maintain office and any other complex building in an orderly and clean fashion.
• Report any wrongdoing to the appropriate authorities.
• Answer any questions and customer service any group or individual that are using the Complex.
• May be asked to write incident reports of any circumstance worth noting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to engage professionally with guests to the complex.
• Understanding of facility operations and building security.
• Knowledge of custodial and groundskeeping practices.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency reporting.
• Familiarity with operating light panels, gates, and simple equipment.
• Experience performing security or public safety duties.
• Ability to speak Portuguese or Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak, write, and comprehend English.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Must be able to move to all areas of the complex efficiently to address emergencies and concerns.
• Must pass a BCI (Background Criminal Investigation).
• Must pass a physical and drug screening.
