Welcome to the city of East Providence’s Human Resources Department. Our mission is to ensure and engage an efficient and motivated municipal workforce in a positive, safe and work friendly environment. Promoting positive and mutually respectful labor management relations, efficiently administering an equitable and competitive benefits program, and recruiting and retaining qualified, well trained, culturally diverse employees for our city’s services is our goal.

Our Department’s responsibilities include:

  • All labor/employee relations activities with our union partners;
  • Administering all employee recruitment and retention processes;
  • Administering all employee benefits programs
  • Leaves of Absence, employee time and record keeping administration;
  • Administering the city’s safety and worker’s compensation program;
  • Formulating, executing and enforcing all employee related policies and ordinances;
  • Advising management in all Human Resources related matters
