Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt (PHMA) will be commencing roadway construction on Greenwood Avenue from Beaumont Street to Newman Avenue and Ellis Street on April 14, 2021. The work includes milling the surface course of asphalt, adjusting utility structures as needed and installing a new layer of asphalt pavement. In order to create a proper transition from the driveway to the new road, the contractor may be removing driveway aprons and replacing with new asphalt driveway aprons.

 

There will be alternating one-way traffic on East River Street in Providence under the Henderson Bridge for pre-demolition activities. We are also scheduled to continue excavation prior to demolition of the closed ramp from Massasoit Avenue to the Henderson Bridge and demolition of the steel beams over land adjacent to Waterfront Drive. Lane closures are not needed for these operations.

Next week (April 5, 2021), we will have weekday alternating one-way traffic on East River Street under the Henderson Bridge to install underdeck shielding. Our other daytime operations include demolition of the steel beams over land and water and excavation prior to the demolition of the closed ramp from Massasoit Avenue to the Henderson Bridge.
