What: Flushing or cleaning in water distribution systems is the process of expelling water through fire hydrants to remove sediments that may have built up over time.
Why: Hydrant flushing is performed within water distributions systems on semi-annual basis to remove sediment buildup and thereby improve the water quality. Customers in flushing area may experience discolored water and lower than normal water pressure. Allow your cold water to run for a short time to clear lines. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Crews will perform flushing during normal business and evening hours.
