Roadwork Update:
Feb. 23, 2021: Rhode Island Department of Transportation is now scheduled to continue the demolition over Waterfront Drive on Sunday night 2/28, weather permitting, with the following night available if needed to finish. With the road being much narrower, RIDOT will have to close Waterfront Drive for safety reasons during demolition, which is scheduled from 10 pm Sunday to 6 am Monday, with a signed detour in place using Valley, North Brow, and Massasoit Ave. As mentioned last week, this will be the last section needing to be completed with lane closures so the remaining deck removal will be during the daytime hours. Additional similar closures will be needed in a few weeks when the steel girders are removed.
Feb. 20, 2021 - Feb. 26, 2021: East Providence: Henderson Pkwy. West, at the off-ramp to Massasoit, ramp closed for construction until further notice.
Providence/East Providence: Henderson Expwy. and Massasoit Ave., from North Broadway to South Angell St./Waterman St., Westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the bridge establishing 2-way traffic on the southern side of the bridge for approximately two years. Henderson Pkwy West, from Massasoit Ave. will be closed permanently.
