Library Director, Meredith Bonds-Harmon
Meredith Bonds-Harmon, who was named director of the East Providence Library, oversees the Weaver Library, Riverside Branch and the Fulling Learning Center.
The East Providence Library, is a member of the Ocean State Libraries (OSL) – a consortium of Rhode Island’s 48 public libraries providing patrons with access to over 6 million books, movies and more. Under her direction, a library staff of 22 full-time equivalent employees provides services and comprehensive programs to over 220,000 annual in-person and virtual visitors.
Bonds-Harmon has been with the East Providence Public Library for 16 years, serving in many capacities, including Neighborhood and Community Services Librarian, Young Adult Librarian, Co-Branch Manager, Head of Reference Services, and Assistant Director.
Prior to that, she was employed by Community College of Rhode Island and worked in the college's Flanagan Campus. She has also worked at Seekonk Public Library.
Meredith currently serves on the New England Library Association and the Rhode Island Library Association Executive board as the NELA/RILA liaison. She participates in the RILA Mentorship Program and has been trained as a Learning Circles Facilitator through Peer 2 Peer University. She has completed the Recovery Friendly Workplace training and as well as a Librarian's Guide to Homelessness training.
