The East Providence Public Library empowers our community by providing equitable access to a wide range of resources, services, and equipment, to facilitate self education and to promote lifelong learning in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The East Providence Library is a department of the City and reports to the Mayor and a seven-member Board of Trustees appointed by the City Council. The Board of Trustees sets the policies by which the Library is administered.
The library system consists of the main Weaver Library, the Riverside Branch Library, and the Fuller Creative Learning Center all offering the opportunity to connect to the world. Resources and services are provided to meet the educational, recreational and cultural needs of the entire community. Materials are available in various formats: print, electronic (books, magazines, movies, and audiobooks), and DVDs. Hot spots for internet connection are also available for circulation.
Programs for all ages are scheduled throughout the year. A young adult area, children's room, information center and community services department combine to provide a vast array of programs and information for East Providence residents. Literacy and ESL classes are offered year-round by the library's full-time literacy coordinator.
