It is the mission of the Public Buildings Division to assist in the design, construction and maintenance of all City buildings in an exceptional and effective manner that is energy efficient and will contribute to a healthy and sound working environment.
The Public Buildings Division performs the following services: Building renovations, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry repairs, preventive maintenance, and custodial services. The Public Buildings Division is staffed by a superintendent, assistant superintendent, HVAC manager and 11 custodians (including seven full-time custodians and four part-time custodians).
The Public Buildings Division provides services to the following City-owned buildings: City Hall, Engustian Public Works Complex, Riverside Recreation Center, East Providence Police Station, four fire stations, three library brances, East Providence Animal Shelter, East Providence Senior Center, Breed Hall, Sweetland House, Union Primary building, the Carousel building, Weaver House, Hunts Mills complex and Pierce Field complex.
