Library ESOL Teacher
$22 per hour
(19 hours per week) part-time, no benefits

As a member of the library staff, responsible for 10 on-site prep/office hours and 9 teaching hours. The ability to think creatively and draw on knowledge of adult education techniques and community resources. Must be committed to a comprehensive, learner-centered view of education and should be able to articulate the value of adult learning in the library. Must be available to teach at minimum two evenings per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree, training in ESOL/Education/Language Acquisition preferred. Personal experience in language learning preferred, bilingual candidates encouraged. Previous experience teaching groups of learners and supporting immigrant adults of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Proficiency required in: using email, Microsoft Word, Google Docs and Drive, and Zoom video conferencing for teaching virtually as needed. Ability to teach basic computer skills to adult English language learners needed.
