Electrical Inspector-Part Time

PART-TIME BUILDING AND ZONING
ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR

19 Hours Per Week
$30 Per Hour (No Benefits)

Under the supervision of the Building Official conduct commercial, residential, and industrial field inspections for the Building and Zoning Department. Prepare inspection reports and make recommendations in accordance with National and State Electrical Codes and City Ordinances. Review electrical plans and approve permits. Answer public and contractor inquiries in person and via telephone. Perform related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess a Master Electrician’s Certificate;
• A License from the RI State Board of Examiners;
• Five (5) years’ experience at the Master’s level.
• Must be fully certified as an Electrical Inspector by the State Building Commission with at least two (2) years of experience as an Electrical Inspector.
