East Providence Senior and Recreation Centers
$15.00 per hour
Applications will be accepted for a part-time (up to 19 hours per week) to drive for East Providence Senior Center and Recreation Department.

Driver will operate mini bus or shuttle transporting seniors and adults with special needs. Assignments may include special runs with specific details for each run or runs may follow an established routine.

Senior Center hours are flexible, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Recreation Department needs a driver from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and once a month on Saturdays from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Hours are flexible and may allow candidate to choose between day time and evening hours. Driver will be required to assist passengers and their mobility equipment onto and off vehicles. Operation of bus wheel chair lift may be required.

Minimum Qualifications for Appointment: Completion of high school or an equivalency; experience transporting or working with senior and disabled populations preferred; must be able to lift 20 lbs.; Driver must possess or meet the requirements to obtain a valid Rhode Island Chauffer License. Requirements for chauffer license include: 1) Completion of chauffer application (available on the Rhode Island, DMV website), 2) Current driver's license, 3) Social Security Card 4) Original BCI report from the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office. To drive vehicles over 14 passengers, will require CDL license.

A physical exam, drug screen and BCI check are required. This position will remain open until filled.
