Under general direction of a supervisor or leadworker, operates complex automotive equipment such as front-end loader, low boy tractor-trailer, large backhoe, bulldozer, jet/vac truck, grader, street sweeper, and ten wheel trucks. Incumbents in this class may be distinguished from those of the next lower class by the size and variety of equipment operated, and the supervisory responsibility exercised over a small crew in the absence of a Supervisor or Leadworker. When not operating or servicing automotive equipment, perform general manual labor as required as well as sanding and snow plowing. Must be available for extensive overtime during all types of emergency situations. Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid RI Hoisting Engineer’s License for loader/backhoe; must have possession of a valid RI Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Air Brake Endorsement.
