City Clerk, Jill Seppa
Jill Seppa was appointed East Providence's City Clerk in May 2023. Seppa, who works under the direction of the City Council, oversees all functions of the Clerk's office and its 6 members, as well as the functions of the City Council.
Prior to joining the city of East Providence, Seppa worked with the Town of New Shoreham. There she served in many capacities, including clerking several boards such as Historic District Commission, and Conservation Commission and was the assistant to Zoning and Planning in Land Use. In the Clerk's Office, she clerked the Sea Level Rise, Police Advisory Commission, Deer Task Force and was in charge of vital records and participated in land evidence records and town licensing processes.
She also worked for Coastline EAP in Rhode Island Prevention where some of her key functions included providing oversight and delivery of health and wellness programs across the lifespan.
Seppa is a member of the Rhode Island Town and Cities Clerk Association, a director on the Board of National Alliance on Mental Illness and a volunteer EMT. She was the coordinator of the Wellness Coalition and was a board member on the Planning Board for the Town of New Shoreham. Seppa studied Communication Sciences at the University of Connecticut and is earning her degree as a Paralegal at the Community College of Rhode Island. She has numerous additional trainings as a certified prevention specialist and is attaining her EMT Cardiac, Pals and Als certifications. She received the Governor's Award of Excellence in Prevention in 2019.
