March 31, 2021 Community Meeting: Living with Coyotes

Join Councilman Nate Cahoon and Mayor Bob DaSilva as they host a community meeting with East Providence Animal Control Office Will Muggle, Coyote Experts Numi Mitchell, Ph.D, David Gregg, Ph.D. and Kyle R. Hess Assistant Biologist. We hope to learn more about Coyotes and how they live amongst us and what we can do to live safely with them.

We will also learn about the Condos for Cats project aimed at protecting feral cats from predation by coyotes.

The Narragansett Bay Coyote Study, in cooperation with the RI DEM and USFWS, has been GPS tracking coyotes in EP since 2019 and are looking to implement a new stage of the experiment. They are hoping to help our understanding of coyote life in an urban/suburban environment and the best way for us to safely live with coyotes in our community. The project also involves students from the EP High School.

Thank you to our special guest for particpating in this special community event.
