The City of East Providence is notifying residents that a large-scale water service interruption is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12th through Friday, August 14th beginning at approximately 7:30AM and lasting through 4PM each day.
• The interruption will affect approximately 200 properties in the area of
• North Side – Valleybrook Drive / Kent Avenue
• East Side – Pawtucket Avenue
• South Side – Hazard Avenue / Plymouth Road
• Westerly Side – Brown Street
And
• North Side – Martin Street
• East Side – Brown Street
• South Side – Hazard Avenue
• West Side – Dodge Street
o (Hazard Avenue & Dodge Street themselves are not affected; they are the limits for Martin Street & Brown Street)
With additional affected streets and addresses as crews complete work on the East Providence cleaning and lining project.

• City View Avenue – All properties
• Unity Avenue – All properties
• Vineyard Avenue – All properties
• Martin Street – From 117 to 245
• Pawtucket Avenue – 2650 to 2741
• Grassmere Avenue – 80 to 223
• Brown Street – 287 to 373
Important Information for Residents
• Date: Wednesday, August 12 – Friday, August 14, 2026
• Estimated Start Time: 08/12/2026 at 8:12AM
• Estimated Duration: We do not know the exact length of time that will be required to complete the water line work. Therefore we are listing all 3 days. It is possible that the interruption will not last the entire workday. It is also possible that the work will be completed by the end of the workday on Thursday
• Number of Properties Affected: Approximately 200
Residents in the affected area are encouraged to plan accordingly and make any necessary preparations prior to the scheduled interruption.
Once water service is restored, residents may experience temporary discoloration or changes in water pressure. If this occurs, residents are advised to run cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water runs clear.
• The interruption will cause:
o Some areas to have no water service
o Some areas to have low water pressure
• The work will be performed on Pawtucket Ave
• However, side streets will be affected by the shutdown
