SENIOR CENTER PROGRAM COORDINATOR – PART TIME

$28.84 PER HOUR / NO BENEFITS
20 HOURS A WEEK

Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Senior Services, the Program
Coordinator coordinates programing at the East Providence Senior Center This position is located at
the East Providence Senior Center, 610 Waterman Ave., East Providence. The Program Coordinator
is a part-time grant-funded position.

General Duties and Responsibilities: The following serve as examples of the responsibilities of the
position and are not intended to be a comprehensive and limited list.

• Create sign-up sheets for upcoming programs.
• Using Canva software, create program flyers.
• Manage Senior Center calendar, adding programing and room assignments.
• Keep “My Senior Center” database up to date.
• Send messaging for program cancelations as needed using My Senior Center software.
• Review calendar for monthly Senior Center newsletter.
• Assist at the front desk with transportation calls in the morning.
• Enter membership applications into My Senior Center database.
• Answer incoming calls at front desk when needed.
• Make reminder calls to members regarding upcoming programs for which they have signed up.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with Senior Center staff, partner organizations
to meet the programing needs of older adult residents, Senior Center members and caregivers.
• Attend required training.
• Work as a team member with Senior Center staff and city employees to provide positive
customer service to adults and their caregivers in East Providence and others who live in
surrounding cities and towns who are members of the East Providence Senior Center.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience coordinating programing for older adult population and their caregivers.
• Working knowledge of computer and internet communication.
• Experience operating standard office equipment (including multi-line telephone, photocopier,
facsimile, personal computers, standard word processing and database software, etc.)
• Experience using Canva and/or My Senior Center database or willingness to learn.
• Bilingual ability (Portuguese or Spanish) preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience coordinating programing for older adult population and their caregivers.
• If selected, the candidate will be required to pass a BCI (Criminal Investigation).
