EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – East Providence is implementing a new design for the city’s monthly water and sewer bills.
The new outline clearly shows residents exactly what they are being charged. The new water bills highlight how much is being spent on water, sewer, and other fees that may be accrued.
While many municipalities bill water and sewer separately, the City of East Providence combines the two into one billing system.
The new bills show consumers exactly how much water they use each month, while also highlighting how the city’s Water Department calculates their monthly bill (the cost and expense of usage).
Major changes that residents will notice include blue (water), green (sewer) and orange (other) graphics, which break down part of the bill including water, fixed, sewer, and sewer facility charges as well as the RI surcharge.
