East Providence Animal Control seeks public’s help

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The East Providence Animal Control is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of dog.

On March 16, 2023, East Providence police responded to Rumford Pets at 865 Warren Ave., East Providence for a report of a dog found.

On that day, an unidentified couple brought a small black dog in a crate to Rumford Pets and told the staff that they had found the abandoned dog in the crate somewhere. The couple did not provide any additional information on where the dog was found.

Police identified the small black dog as a Chihuahua. The dog was wearing a pink collar, but did not have any tags with information. The dog was transported to the East Providence Animal Control.

The East Providence Animal Control is seeking the public’s help in identifying the dog and/or identifying the couple as the EPAC would like to gather more information from the couple about where the dog was found. If you have any information about the dog or the couple, please contact East Providence Animal Control at 401-435-7675.
