COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
(CDBG) PROGRAM ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
PUBLIC HEARING & CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN AMENDMENT 2025-2026

The City of East Providence has been awarded $772,761 of 2025-2026 CDBG funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for fiscal year July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Each year an Annual Action Plan is done that outlines specific activities to be supported with these funds to work towards achieving the goals of a 5 Year Plan. This is the second of 5 years over which the identified priorities and goals of the 5 Year Plan are to be achieved using these funds.

The 5 Year Plan was informed by community participation by a wide variety of stakeholders, studies by other agencies and departments, data from numerous sources, and input from a number of focus groups. The CDBG funds are to support the City of East Providence in the areas of affordable housing, economic development, social services, and public facilities.

A Public Hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. in East Providence City Hall, room 308 on July 2, 2025 to present the priorities and goals of the 5 Year Plan, the second year’s proposed activity’s funding, the amendment to the Citizen Participation Plan, and to solicit public comments regarding all of these.

These Plans are all available for review at City Hall, room 309 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 1:00 p.m. on Fridays. A 30 day comment period will start on July 3, 2025 and end on August 1, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. All comments can be submitted to Tristan Jimerson during this comment period.
