Action Against Inequality Grant

In an effort to aid the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community the city is launching the Action Against Inequality Grant (up to $10,000) to be issued to organizations that have a proven track record of identifying underrepresented, and historically marginalized communities and fighting against inequality.

This grant application will be open until August 15, 2023 allowing us to serve our community year-round for programming that fits our mission of economic security, healthy living, and human services for our historically marginalized communities.

In order to be eligible to receive funding through the Action Against Inequality grant program you must meet the following Criteria:

  • Must be a 501-c3 nonprofit organization with a proven track record of programming within our BIPOC community.
  • Must demonstrate that the funding will serve the BIPOC community in East Providence
  • Organizations must address urgent needs in East Providence’s BIPOC communities associated with economic security, healthy living and human service.

Organizations must apply by August 15, 2023, but must include a proposal that includes the following information:

  • The organization's mission statement
  • Information about your organization
  • Proposal that outlines use of funds including a narrative with details about your project and expected outcomes.
  • Itemized budget
  • Proof of 501-C3 nonprofit status

Your proposal should include a problem or opportunity and should focus on the needs of our East Providence community. You should provide evidence that your organization is well-positioned for the proposed work given experience and technical knowledge.

Ineligible use of funds include:

  •  Event sponsorships
  • Capital investment
  • Administrative or permit fees
