Dir. of Project Management & Communications, Patricia Resende
Patricia Resende, director of project management and communications, oversees a variety of city projects and events under the direction of the mayor, including the implementation of the OpenGov budget platform.
Resende, who joined the City of East Providence Mayor's Office in January 2019, serves as the City's spokesperson and oversees the City's website and social media platforms.
Prior to joining Mayor DaSilva’s administration, Resende was the digital investigative reporter with NBC 10/WJAR. While at NBC 10, Resende and her team were awarded the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award in 2017 for continuing coverage and 2018 for investigative news. Murrow awards recognize news stories that demonstrate technical expertise, exemplify the importance and impact of journalism as a service to the community and uphold the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Code of Ethics.
Before joining NBC 10, Patricia reported for a number of news publications including <em>The Boston Globe</em>, the Boston Herald, Boston Business Journal and AOL Patch.
A native of Rhode Island, Patricia was also a research and writing specialist and community liaison with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during the Rhode Island Severe Storms and Flooding Disaster (DR-1894).
Resende has been a volunteer with a number of organizations including the Rhode Island Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Bristol/Warren Education Foundation and was a founding member of Best Buddies KMS chapter. When she’s not at City Hall, she enjoys time with family.
Resende earned a project management certificate from Bryant University, a degree from Community College of Rhode Island and attended Northeastern University’s School of Journalism and CO-OP program.
