Dir. of Planning & Economic Dev., William Fazioli

William Fazioli, who was named director of the East Providence Planning & Economic Development Office in 2019, oversees development of short- and long-term economic and community development plans and provides guidance to individuals and companies to establish, relocate or expand their businesses within the City. Under his direction, the department provides assistance in the planning and coordination of community development projects, assisting business and residential applicants with local and state permitting processes and providing research for City projects.

During his 25-year-career Bill Fazioli has served as financial advisor to a broad range of issuers throughout New England and has worked directly with more than 60 local government issuers throughout the region. In addition to working as a financial advisor, Fazioli has held several positions in local government including city manager, finance director and interim town administrator. In addition to his duties as the City's planning and economic director, Fazioli has also served as chair of the East Providence Waterfront Commission since 2019. The Commission oversees the redevelopment of 300 acres of underutilized property within East Providence.

In addition to serving on the Waterfront Commission, Fazioli also served as executive director of the New England States Government Finance Officers Association (NESGFOA) since 2000.

Fazioli earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Public Administration from Rhode Island College and a Master of Public Administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs at the University of New York at Albany. He is a Registered Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50).
