Councilman Nate Cahoon is a proud product of the East Providence school system, having been raised in Riverside and educated at Alice M. Waddington Elementary; Riverside Junior High; and East Providence High Schools. Nate earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University in 1997, and a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University in 2006. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served eight years as a Communication and Information Officer and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Instructor. Cahoon served on the East Providence School Committee from 2014 - 2018, and is Co-Chairman of the East Providence High School Building Committee. In his spare time he coaches youth baseball with the East Providence Central Little League, and has previously coached youth football with the East Providence Junior Townies. Nate and his wife, artist and entrepreneur Jennifer Gillooly Cahoon, live in Kent Heights with their two children, Kayleigh and Ryan, and their two German Shepherds, Isis and Thor.
